Narrow Gauge Railway
There are many examples of 'narrow gauge' railways within Wales the most famous of which is undoubtably the Ffestiniog Railway from Blaenau Ffestiniog to Porthmadog. Originally constructed to carry slate from the Ffestiniog slate mines the railway slowly went out of use by the mid 1900's.
Today many of these railways serve as tourist attractions.
