One of Wales most famous landmarks is its magnificent castles from Caernarfon and Beaumaris to Cardiff they tower above the surrounding towns as signs of the strength they once held. Welsh Castles have been a sign of power in Wales from the very first settlements to the great castles of Edward I and his iron ring encircling Snowdonia. Many still stand today remarkably well preserved and are open to the public throughout the year.
