United Kingdom
The United Kingdom is the name used to describe the union of the countries of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. It is commonly referred to as the UK and is governed from parliament in London.
In the late 20th century Wales was granted limited independance with the formation of the Welsh Assembly which is based in the Welsh capital of Cardiff.
