Tree Tops Adventures Expanding
Tree Tops Adventures based near the beautiful village of Betws y Coed in North Wales is planning massive expansions for the beginning of its second full year since opening.
During the first year this popular North Wales attraction doubled its expected visitor numbers. Now well into its second year the attraction is branching out further with a new visitor centre and is increasing staffing numbers by 50% to cope.
Owner, and former marine commando, Sean Taylor, says "I was away for 24 years serving in the places you see on the TV news, such as Iraq and Afganistan. When I left the Marines I looked at this as a lifestyle decision. I fully believed in the product and there was a gap in the market for it."
"Betws y Coed is almost in the Snowdonia National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty and this venture has already proved to be well worth the investment."
"People come here to take part in outdoor activities and we're in a great location because we're right on the main road. There's a potential for this area to grow, as it has in the Lake District."
"It's the Lakes that I see as my competition, not other similar local businesses. The more there are in this area the better, as far as I'm concerned."
Tree Tops spider's web course of ropes, bridges, ladders and ziplines are 50' up in the trees, and an adrenaline-inducing 110-foot parachute plunge, is attracting everyone from schools to hen parties to the military, policce and corporate groups.
The attraction received 10,000 visitors in the first eight months it was open in 2007 and 15,000 in 2008. Sean has just trained up to six new instructors who are joining the existing 14 to cope with increasing demand.
Tree Tops Adventures is located just off the A470 on the outskirts of Betws y Coed to the north of the village. Interested visitors can find more information at www.ttadventure.co.uk
