Thomas Telford
Thomas Telford (1757-1834) was born in Scotland and became a gifted engineer responsible for many of Britain's roads, bridges, and canals.
The Menai Bridge and Conwy Suspension Bridge were both constructed by Telford. The Conwy Bridge was completed in 1826 and was the first permanent crossing at Conwy and was designed in a castellated style blending in with Conwy Castle.
