Slate Trade, in Wales
During the 19th century North Wales flourished with the popularity of the local slate most notably from southern Snowdonia and the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog.
The evidence of the popularity of Welsh Slate can still be seen in the distinctive landscapes of the area and a number of popular tourist attractions exist including the Llechwedd Slate Caverns.
