Portmadoc

The original name for the town of Porthmadog was changed in 1974.

Nearby are the towns of Tremadog and Criccieth.

The town is the terminus for the very popular tourist attraction the Ffestiniog Mountain Railway which runs from Blaenau Ffestiniog.
