North Wales BorderlandsThe North Wales Borderlands is the term used to describe the geographic region of north east Wales and covers an area from the northern towns of Flint and Connah's Quay down to the towns Owestry and Llangollen and includes many historic towns and locations. The largest town in the region is Wrexham which lies just on the English Border close to the city of Chester. Getting ThereThe region is easily reached from either Manchester, Birmingham, or Liverpool and as well as being home to historic Welsh towns such as Llangollen, Holywell, Mold and Ruthin, is within easy reach of of the roman city of Chester which lies just across the border to England. The A55 dual carriageway follows the coast in the north and routes south are well signposted as your journey takes you past Chester. From the south you can follow the M6 and head towards Shrewsbury from which the towns of Owestry and Llangollen are clearly signposted.Why Visit The North Wales BorderlandsThe region has many attractions for the visitor and is ideally located for both exploring the local area and further afield in Snowdonia or the English borderlands.
