Llechwedd Slate Caverns
The Llechwedd Slate Caverns are a popular tourist attraction close to the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog in North Wales.
Visitors can learn how slate was mined and then transformed into traditional roof tiles with underground tours and a visitor centre. See how the miners lived and worked and the many practical uses of slate throughout the decades.
The caverns even offer to UK's deepest civil wedding service as well as conference facilities.
