Fishguard is a beautiful town located on the Pembrokeshire coast in south west Wales. The town is a popular tourist destination for its proximity to the Pembrokeshire National Park. It is also popular for the ferry port which sails daily to Rosslare in Ireland.
As a popular tourist destination there are a good number of hotels in Fishguard. Each summer the town hosts the Fishguard Folk Festival where street performers play. The festival is held during May usually at the time of the Spring Bank Holiday.
Fishguard is famous for 'the Last Invasion of Britain' which as the title suggests is the last time the British Isles were invaded. In 1797 French troops close to Fishguard but the attack was short lived and local heroine Jemima Nicholas captured many of the invaders single handed.
Fishguard Bay Hotel: This imposing hotel overlooks the town and is set in its own grounds. The hotel enjoys breaktaking sea views and guests can take in the view of a large area of the Pembrokeshire coast. Rooms cost from £62.50 for a single room up to £150.00 for an executive room per night on a bed and breakfast basis.
The Cartref Hotel: The hotel is located in the centre of the town. All rooms are fully en-suite and the licensed restaurant is open to non-residents. The hotel is just five minutes from the ferry port so is ideally located as a stop over point before travelling.
Ferryboat Inn & Restaurant: This traditional inn is located just a quarter of a mile from Fishguard harbour. Rated as 4 star by the Welsh Tourist Board the inn is family owned and has two double rooms, two single rooms, and one twin/double.
The Manor House: Located high above Fishguard harbour The Manor House has spectacular views of the Pembrokeshire coast. Set in a 4-star Georgian town house room prices range from £37.50 to £42.50 per person per night. All rooms are fully en-suite and the price includes a full Welsh breakfast.
Avon House B&B: Centrally located this bed and breakfast is a convenient stopping point if you are walking along the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. The accommodation can sleep up to four people in 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom.
