Ffestiniog Railway
The world famous narrow gauge railway originally served as a means of transporting slate from Blaenau Ffestiniog to Porthmadog. Construction of the railway was started in 1836 and used gravity to carry the trains down to the port with horses used to then pull the empty carriages back up the track.
