Conwy, North Wales
Situated on the North Wales Coast, Conwy is an ideal location to explore the Snowdonia Mountains and the coast.
The main attraction is Conwy Castle. Built by King Edward I in the 13th century, it was one of the key fortresses in Wales. Walk the three quarters of a mile circuit of the walls, with fantastic views of the town from its 22 towers.
Other highlights include Thomas Telford's Suspension Bridge, which opened in 1826, the haunted and well preserved Elizabethan mansion house Plas Mawr and Aberconwy House, a 14th century medieval merchant's house.
Down on the pretty Quay, past the mussel centre, fishing boats and pleasure cruises, you'll find the Smallest House in Great Britain, as seen in the Guinness Book of Records.
Experience a tropical rainforest experience at the Butterfly Jungle, or buy yourself a new teapot at the Teapot Museum on Castle Street or just wander the pretty streets in the town.
The town of Conwy is located within the County of Conwy.
