About Colwyn Bay

Colwyn Bay is a large town situated on the North Wales coast in the county of Conwy with easy access from both the North Wales railway line and the A55 Dual carriageway.




The town hosts a busy street market each week of the year on Tuesday and Saturday with a large variety of stalls offering something for everyone. North Wales Police have their main headquarters within the town.

Colwyn Bays' main shopping precinct is home to several superstores and includes amongst others Morrisons, Iceland, Dorothy Perkins, and a variety of other shops all undercover with convenient parking facilities. The centre is located close to the main shopping areas of the town and just a short walk from the train station. In 2004 the shopping centre was expanded and renamed to the Bay View Shopping Centre and now offers a greater number of shops such as Argos, Home Bargins, and Aldi and an increased number of parking spaces.

Colwyn Bay Attractions

Colwyn Bay is also home to a number of local attractions including the Welsh Mountain Zoo, Eirias Park and the Victorian promenade stretching from the nearby town of Old Colwyn all the way to Rhos-on-Sea. All are within a short taxi ride or half hour walk of the town centre. The promenade also boasts a pier named the Victoria Pier and a local campaign is underway to achieve the necessary funding to ensure its upkeep.

Each May Day Bank Holiday Colwyn Bay plays host to the Colwyn Bay Prom Day which see's a wide variety of attractions and fair ground rides attracting thousands of visitors to the town.
