Coloured Pencil Art
Hi, and welcome to a new site devoted to the promotion and encouragement of coloured pencil as an art medium and the fantastic coloured pencil artists in the UK that are pushing the limits in this field.
For over 30 years I worked in watercolour and acrylic but I never seemed to get the effects I wanted. At the end of 2003 I was roaming the internet and came across the website of the UK Coloured Pencil Society and saw the amazing work on there. It was a real eye opener for me and I immediately started experimenting. I splashed out on a box of Karisma coloured pencils and the results amazed me. I am now a CP addict and my work seems to get better with every picture I do.
The internet has some fantastic resources for artists using this medium and I hope to list as many as possible on this site to save you having to spend hours looking. Some are USA based where coloured pencil is recognised more. I hope this site helps to bring the UK up to speed.
Take a look round and see the talent we have in the UK or find some of the best places to buy art materials on the internet. I hope it encourages others to try this medium and see what can be done.
