Aberaeron
Aberaeron is located in Cardigan Bay and is a planned port town, which was very busy in the 19th century. It is built around a green field called the Square Field.
Wander around the village it's full of colourful houses steeped in architectural and historic interest. Milford House, a property overlooking the inner harbour, has a room forming an arch over Drury Lane, and was chosen in February 1970 as a house showing a local style of architecture in a set of postage stamps. Since then the house is known locally as 'The Stamp House'.The stonewalled harbour, in the past known for its shipbuilding industry and fleet of herring boats, now houses yachts and a pretty riverside walk.
Aberaeron offers a good range of shops, second hand bookshops and the Clôs Pengarreg Crafts Centre, offering local produce and crafts. A speciality of the town is the honey ice cream. Places to visit include the Aberaeron Sea Aquarium and Bee Museum.
